In 2007, First National Bank of DanvilleWestville celebrated 150 years of service to Vermilion County.

1857 marked a year of change in Danville with the foundation of the Tincher & English Bank in a one room cabin near what was then Redden Square, very near the present site of the Danville City Hall.  In 1863, as required by the Federal government, the bank was chartered as the First National Bank of Danville.

The First National Bank of Danville now holds the 8th oldest national bank charter in the nation and the oldest national bank charter in Illinois.  First National Bank has survived two World Wars, the stock market crash of 1929, the bank national moratorium of 1933, and numerous bank mergers and acquisitions.

How is this possible?  Sound financial decisions over the last 150 years have led to the longevity of the First National Bank.  Continued excellent service to our customer base has created customer loyalty and continues to display our commitment to Vermilion County.  Our reputation as a sound financial institution has allowed the bank to expand.  Our goal to bring services back into Vermilion County rather than move back office services away to other communities creates an economic infusion of dollars returned to the community.  Donations and advertising centered on support of community organizations is another way First National Bank shows its determination to make Danville and Vermilion County a successful community.

Please join us at Danville's and Westville’s only “locally owned, locally operated, hometown bank.”  We are proud of our history, proud of where we stand today and proud of our commitment to the future.

Sincerely,
Craig L. Campbell
President, CEO, Director, Owner
